Subject: A vision/call for mutual engagement towards higher heights

My fellow AWOGANS of this great chapter, I write to present myself as your new President seeking to serve with humility and zeal and to invite your support to work with the newly installed executive committee to achieve higher heights in service to our illustrious Alma Mater.
I accepted the nomination to this position recognizing that there is a keen spirit among our members to always do their best. Over the years, I have come to understand that our members come with a variety of gifts and talents in so many ways, each essential to our collective pursuit of goodwill and success. Sometimes, in the spirit of debate and competing priorities, some ideas may prevail, and others may not at any given time. For me, it is important to recognize that we are all seeking the best outcome. All ideas, great or small, contribute to the common good so long as respect, empathy, and thoughtfulness remain our foundational pillars to achieve success. Clearly, we have a lot to accomplish together constrained by time and individual circumstances. Yet our combined commitment to resourcefulness should be able to fill gaps when challenges occur. As such, I offer a vision of mutual engagement to build on 39 years of acclaim for our chapter. With your help and total involvement of our executive committee, we will strive to make the next two years vibrant, engaged, thriving, and attentive to our needs, goals, and aspirations.
As we embark on this journey together, I appeal to all to get involved: past leaders, donors, various organizing committees, behind-the-scenes helpers, our illustrious choir, seniors, millennials, and newer members. Let us be guided by our history, let us be our best listeners, let us seek new pathways that strengthen our legacy, and let us in all things seek common ground and common understanding. I believe that together we can keep the AWOGA spirit engaged, and I make this commitment to seek counsel and guidance while the executive committee and I strive for excellence in service to our Alma Mater. I look forward to the next two years in service to you, our school, and our chapter. Thank you.
